"Because she never hurt you?" Leander caressed her forehead with the back of his hand.
Viviana lying on his legs hugged around his waist. With a cheeky grin, she rested his chin on his abdomen as he lay on the bed.
"Yes," she said with shameless certainty. She was speaking the truth, she thought. So, she doesn’t have to lie. "She’ll always be the perfect friend in my heart. Blameless and filled with love... she’ll always be the person who loved me the most without any expectations."
"But I did...hurt you..." he said, his tone getting deeper.
Viviana found something was going wrong. But she couldn’t figure out what it was. Maybe he thinks that she is blaming him?
She didn’t answer him and stared at his face for a good long minute. She didn’t want to hurt him by speaking the truth. He looked so pitiful for some reason.
Maybe he is sad that she considers Leona her better friend. But she is being honest. Leona will forever be her most precious friend. No one living or dead can beat Leona.
And maybe... if Leona was alive, who knows what could have happened between them? Their friendship might have led to something more... intimate...probably...
They kissed and marry... maybe it was a toy wedding, which kids usually do. But maybe there was more to it. She will never know.
