Chapter 143: Confrontation
Leander called Danielle immediately.
"She talked to one of my staff who was with your wife in the trial room. At first, she asked about what she ordered. When our staff refused, she insisted to know if your wife had a distinct birthmark anywhere on her body, especially her chest. My staff said that she saw nothing..."
"What else?" Leander asked.
"Concealer doesn’t fool everyone..." Daniella let out a deep breath.
Leander gritted his teeth and ended the call. He knew that Danielle would be careful not to cross him, but he couldn’t understand why Tabitha wants to know about the birthmark.
Is she colluding with Evander?
Whatever it was about, he realized it would be a safe bet to remove the birthmark permanently. Only that would ensure the secret doesn’t spread.
As they reached the lobby, he saw Nicholai walking in with Helena. Pushing Viviana behind him, Leander walked up to Nicholai.
Viviana tried to see what was going on, but Steve covered her from Nicholai and he got ready to grab the gun if necessary.
Through the little gap, Viviana saw Leander shoving Nicholai at his chest. She didn’t know why Leander was acting this way unprovoked.
"F*ck this bas*ard!" Nicholai tried to shove Leander back, but Leander stood like a mountain. Nicholai’s shove didn’t move Leander an inch.
Helena took a step back covering her face with her hands. Her eyes filled with tears. She tried to pull Nicholai back, but he shoved her. Helena almost banged her head on the door.
