Chapter 87: Fool of the Family
"What’s wrong?" Barnabas asked as he entered the room.
Peter was tapping the table out of nervousness. "He visited. Talked about the accounting discrepancies."
Barnabas paused from taking his seat. Peter nodded at him stressing that he is telling the truth.
"Why did you send him the accounts books?" Barnabas asked.
"I don’t know!" Peter threw his hands in the air. "I was not going to send him the accounts book. It was one of the old ones too."
Barnabas wanted to cuss but held himself back. Why is everything going wrong for the family these days?
"He cannot find out about our deal with the Waldorf family. That deal was made to be buried with us elders," Paul sighed. "The fox of Waldorf cannot know about the deal. He’s cunning and he won’t keep calm."
Barnabas sighed. Lionel Waldorf—the fox of Waldorf. Peter is scared of Lionel if he’s being honest. He would say that at times he would have no replies for that fox.
And Lionel IS someone who needs to be feared. He might not mingle with the mafia families, but he mingles with the global elites now that he became a movie star. He has better connections worldwide—better open connections. People with influence won’t be afraid to voice their support for Lionel.
In this era of the internet, Lionel is dangerous because of those with millions of followers. He can bring down people like them if he wishes for it.
