Entwined With the Villainous Guardian

Chapter 78: See The Truth

"Slow down," Lionel asked Leander who was swallowing shots of absinthe as if it was water.

Leander threw the glass on the floor. Maybe he was tipsy, the glass rolled having escaped the fate of broken to shills.

"What hurt you, darling?" Lionel scooted closer to Leander and tried to hug him. But Leander pushed him away.

"Stay away," he leaned on the backrest of the couch and closed his eyes.

But then he opened his eyes and leaned toward Lionel making him retreat. "Whoa! Easy there, buddy. I don’t like kissing you when we are alone," he laughed.

"You!" Leander grabbed his collar.

The laptop was open on the worktable. Lionel must be working on his next project. He doesn’t like to stay in his house when he’s back in town.

"What? Want advice for wife troubles?" Lionel raised his brows.

Leander’s hold on Lionel’s collar loosened. Lionel scooted backward. Leander will not hurt him. He knows. But he couldn’t help but act like the macho fool he is.

"What do you want to know? Flowers, jewelry...," Lionel stopped seeing Leander not interested in listening. "I can’t imagine you being lovey-dovey with someone. You should have stayed single for life," he scoffed. "Why marry and struggle? You should have left the poor woman on her own..."

Lionel poured him a shot and gulped it. His face twitched as his throat burned. He couldn’t forget the smile on her face.

Leander glared at Lionel, but when he saw the odd expression on Lionel’s face, he was a little concerned. Why should he worry for his mouse?
