The demonic beast let out another earth-shaking roar before charging straight at Cynthia, its massive claws digging into the ground as it propelled itself forward.
Red lightning crackled wildly around its body, arcing across the air with a violent hiss. With each stomp, the ground trembled beneath its weight, and every step sent dust and pebbles flying in all directions. Its speed was terrifying—far faster than its size should have allowed.
Cynthia barely had a moment to react. Gritting her teeth, she stretched out her hand, and a bright light burst forth from her palm.
A white, translucent barrier materialized in front of her, glowing brilliantly against the dim atmosphere of the village street. The barrier shimmered like a solidified piece of light, sturdy yet radiant.
The beast slammed into it at full speed.

The impact was like an explosion, sending a powerful shockwave rippling through the surroundings.
It kicked up quite an amount of dust, sending loose debris flying.
Wooden stalls nearby creaked under the pressure, and weaker structures trembled from the force.
Cynthia staggered slightly from the recoil, her boots scraping against the stone road as she dug in her heels to keep her stance firm.
Even though she was behind the barrier, the sheer force of the collision made her bones rattle.
