Rise of the Harem King

Davi stretched slowly, his muscles waking up one by one as the sunlight invaded his eyes without mercy.

The air in that place was dense, filled with a sour smell of sweat, mold, and something indefinably putrid that invaded his nostrils. So, it was safe to say he did not wake up pleasantly.

The sun cut through the rusted bars like a blade, drawing lines of light and shadow across the dirt floor. There was no window, only a narrow opening high on the wall, large enough to let in the cold wind of the night, but too small to stop the rain from soaking everything.

"It’s not nice, but it’s better than I expected..." he murmured anyway.

Then the boy began stretching, debating whether he should wait to be released or go ahead with his exercise routine right there in the cell.

Yes, thanks to an ironic series of events, the boy was in jail, even if, at that point, his imprisonment had only lasted a single night.

Davi let out a soft sigh. He was only in that situation because someone who didn’t like him had used their influence to put him on the list of suspects.

And in the chaos that surrounded the ongoing investigation, this had gone unnoticed.

Or rather, the person responsible for the decision didn’t even report it to their superior, so neither Amelia nor Morrigan had found out.

Of course, Davi wasn’t particularly worried. After spending two days in the infirmary, he had fully recovered, and now all that remained was to wait for the day he’d be released.

And that day came quickly.
