Chapter 78: Reward
Sylvia flinched at the sight before her.
A monstrous, towering beast let out a deafening roar, shaking the very air around it. Its colossal body loomed like a moving mountain. From its massive torso sprouted hundreds of writhing necks, each twisting and coiling like scary serpents.
Then, all the serpent-like heads locked onto Sylvia, their eyes cold and filled with murderous intent as the monster grew furious at her response.
Finally, hundreds of furious heads lunged toward her, their eyes burning with unrelenting rage. Their snarling faces contorted in a grotesque display of fury as they struck with all their might. But instead of reaching her, their attacks collided violently against an unseen force, a powerful energy barrier that surrounded her like an impenetrable shield.
The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air, accompanied by a deafening crackle as the barrier absorbed the onslaught. The sheer force of the attack made the ground tremble beneath her feet, yet the barrier held firm, defying the relentless assault.
Sylvia’s heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to make sense of what was happening. For a brief moment, all she could do was stand frozen.
And for a few more moments, the countless heads tried to continue their furious attack, but it soon became clear that they would not be able to defeat the enemy before them.
Then, suddenly, a being appeared between Sylvia and the terrifying monster. Seeing that he had calmed things down, Gilg smiled and for the first time the girl was happy to hear his overly excited voice.
"Calm down, auntie, I cannot allow you to take the life of the first guest we have had in so long!"
The countless heads exchanged glances before engaging in a silent debate. At the very least, Sylvia couldn’t comprehend the telepathic manner in which this being communicated with itself.
And after a few moments, some heads were brutally removed by the majority that had already made its decision. Following a short and brutal battle, the minority was completely eliminated.
