Chapter 18: Limit
"Let's start with the bad news," Davi said without much thought.
"Your body still hasn't recovered. At the very least, don't use your enhancement ability for the rest of the week."
"What happens if I use it?"
Amelia sighed. "Go ahead, try it."
Obeying her command, the boy attempted to activate his powers, but his body was quickly overtaken by a wave of intense nausea. Everything began spinning, and a sharp, excruciating pain coursed through him. He quickly deactivated Love the King.
"Don't worry. A week of rest and you should be fine. Just leave the next phase to Ember."
Suddenly, the boy remembered the redhead and noticed she wasn't nearby. Why hadn't she come to find him yet?
"Can you tell me if Ember is okay and where is she?" he asked, already attempting to stand up.
Amelia let out a deep sigh. "You should know when to rest and focus on yourself."
Despite her scolding tone, her face carried a charming smile. She couldn't help but like his persistent nature.
"But if that's what you want, I can send you to her. However, first, I need to ask you a few questions," she said, ignoring the good news she still hadn't delivered.
