The Sea Guardian led them to the edge of the Mariana Trench, the water pressure building, the darkness pressing in around them like a living thing. The group’s eyes adjusted, their senses heightened, their hearts pounding with a mix of excitement and trepidation.
As they descended into the trench, the darkness swallowed them, the only sound the creaking of the water, the groaning of the earth. The Sea Guardian’s form glowed with a faint, ethereal light, guiding them through the black.
Elara’s voice was a whisper, her eyes fixed on the void ahead. "How much farther?"
