Chapter 297: The Vault Of Shadows
The group’s eyes adjusted to the dim light of the Vault, the air thick with dust and the scent of aged metal. Elara led them deeper, her steps echoing off the stone walls.
Lucias’s voice was low, his words barely audible. "So, what are we looking for?"
Elara stopped before a large crate, her hands moving with a practiced ease. "Steel beams, treated for Orbos’s harsh climate. Nails, forged from Kraken’s unique iron. And... this."
She lifted a small, intricately carved box. "A mirror shard, said to amplify the user’s intent. It’ll help focus the energy needed to rebuild Lumia."
Kyle’s eyes narrowed, his shadow energy pulsing. "That’s it?"
Elara nodded. "For now. These materials, combined with the right knowledge... they can restore Lumia’s foundations."
The group’s eyes scanned the crate’s contents, their minds racing with the possibilities. Layla’s telekinesis lifted a steel beam, testing its weight.
"This’ll do. Let’s load up."
As they worked, the Vault’s shadows seemed to grow longer, twisting like living things. Elara’s eyes flickered, her voice low. "We need to hurry. The Vault’s guardians... they’re not just shadows."
Lucias’s fists clenched, his eyes scanning the darkness. "Bring ’em on."
The group’s movements synchronized, their senses on high alert. Suddenly, the shadows coalesced, taking form..
Kyle’s shadow energy surged, his voice a growl. "Get the materials. I’ll handle this."
