Chapter 288: The Mirror’s Whisper

Lilith’s reflection gazed back at her, its eyes sparkling with mirth. The Labyrinth’s air seemed to vibrate with anticipation, the whispers growing louder, more urgent.

"Welcome, Lilith," her reflection said, its voice a playful echo of her own. "I’ve been waiting."

Lilith’s eyes narrowed, her hands instinctively weaving a subtle spell. "What do you want?"

Her reflection’s smile grew wider. "Want? Oh, I want to show you something. A gift, really."

The mirror’s surface rippled, and images began to play like a broken hologram. Lilith’s past unfolded before her – memories she’d locked away, faces she’d loved and lost. The pictures twisted, darkening into nightmare scenarios: her friends dying, her powers spiraling out of control, the Shadow Realm collapsing...

Lilith’s face remained calm, but her fingers twitched with a mix of fear and anger. "This isn’t real."

Her reflection laughed, the sound like shattering crystal. "Isn’t it? Or is it just what you fear?"

The images intensified, Lilith’s defenses beginning to crack. The whispers in the Labyrinth grew louder, feeding on her doubt. Arachne, Kade, Lyra – all were dying, their eyes accusing her of failure...

Lilith’s eyes flashed with determination. She raised her hands, and a burst of ethereal light filled the mirror.

"Enough," she said, her voice firm. "These are shadows, not truths."

The reflection’s smile faltered, its eyes flickering with surprise. Lilith stepped closer, her voice dropping to a whisper.

"My path is lit. I know what I fight for."
