Chapter 64: Look into my eyes!
"Are you ready?" Kyle softly asked Elise who nodded slightly, a dim purple light glowing in both her hands. It hadn’t been that long, since Kyle and Elise were currently thrown into prison by their own will. Their plan to conquer this fox village still in motion, Felix had been asked to wait outside by Kyle a while ago.
Everything was beginning to set in place as the hour to strike was at hand, soon this peaceful village would turn into a chaotic hell.
’I’ll handle her if she interferes.’ Kyle inaudibly muttered, thinking about falcon. She was a three tailed fox so she could kill him with ease, because she was way stronger and faster than him. But he bet in his heart she wouldn’t, after all she wanted to escape this place and he was the only one that could take her.
"It’s time." Kyle’s low voice was carried into the wind. Right now there were five guards patrolling the inside of the cells, four one tailed and a two tailed foxman.
"Hey! you." Kyle called out to a young foxman holding a sword, his eyes shone with pride staring at Kyle. In his mind, this human was just another bug he could squash.
"What?" He said aggressively a frown plastered on his face, slowly walking to Kyle’s location.
"That’s it just some more." Kyle inwardly said, ready to activate demon eyes. While he and Elise were in the prison he’d tried using his demon eyes skill on the one tailed foxes, but to his surprise they didn’t work.
It was strange, but he’d come up with possible guesses as to why it didn’t. First, for the skill to work he’d to directly stare into their eyes, which he couldn’t because they were constantly on the move. Second, he considered the distance another factor hindering the skill, as it was a bit far and demon eyes couldn’t yet cover far distances.
And lastly, he didn’t want to gain much attention by exposing his skill in the open as it may backfire, he didn’t want to gamble on that as it was a huge risk. So he wanted to first catch a prey by luring him closer to him, so demon eyes effectiveness wouldn’t be hindered.
"I just wanted to know what your name is." Kyle said with a fake smile.
"And why the hell, would I tell a prisoner my name?" The creature frowned more, his blood boiling more faster.
