Chapter 62: Bad moment
Alexandre looked at edward, the member of security seemed totally shocked by what had just happened, it was the perfect moment to get some information, Alexandre said "how often does this kind of thing happen?!"
edward replied, "The failed transformation, it happens sometimes to candidates who are physically too weak, but it's very rare for them to resist nitrous oxide for more than a minute, normally it kills them instantly!" Edward added, "Shit, an accident like that'll go on my record! Shit! Shit! I can say goodbye to my raise!"
Alexandre was shocked, the rumor that certain candidates would die of energy crises was false, in reality, when the S.G.C. solution was rejected by a candidate who was too weak, he would turn into a Zombie!
Alexandre realized just how big a scandal this would be, if public opinion knew that the modified Virus Z could cause a complete transformation!
Alexandre said, "How many candidates does this happen to?"
Edward replied "What!? I don't know! About ten, per year! It only happens with the first dose!"
Alexander understood the problem: the Hunter academy couldn't have hidden such a secret, if every year hundreds of Hunters died in suspicious ways, but here it was just a few unlucky candidates...
This also explains the extraordinary physical and psychological difficulty of the entrance exam to the academy. If the academy were to admit several thousand candidates every year, the number of deaths would be too great not to attract attention, and Alexander even thought that the academy itself had leaked the information that certain candidates would die of alergy during the transformation, to prevent people from asking too many questions.
