Chapter 383: Gift
"Sure, I only like making clothes." Qin Xiangnuan feels that being a doctor is a decent career for retirement, and doctors will be very popular in the future. Of course, being a teacher is also good, with two vacations throughout the year, regular pay, and good benefits.
But she doesn’t like it.
"You really are something," Li Li can’t really argue with Qin Xiangnuan’s random choice of profession, making clothes for others.
Qin Xiangnuan also picked up a glass of iced orange juice. She quite liked this—drinks of the era were cheap and tasted good. Although they weren’t very high-end, given the current standard of living, this glass was pretty good.
"Right, aren’t you staying on campus?" Mao Xiaomei pinched a piece of pastry and stuffed it into her mouth. Their homes were both far away, and even though they were both in Capital City, they were in the suburbs, so they had to live on campus. Qin Xiangnuan was admitted to Kyoto University, which was close to her home. She figured she could either board or not.
"Yeah, I won’t be staying," Qin Xiangnuan propped her face on the table. "I wonder if they will provide me with a dormitory?"
"Of course not, you don’t get a part of it," Li Li said with a laugh. "You’re not staying on campus; why would they reserve a bed for you? Besides, what’s so good about living at school? You have to choose between upper and lower bunks, and even though there are only a few people in one dorm, it’s like a small community. It’s annoying if you end up with bad roommates."
"I really want to rent a place outside, get up whenever I want," sighed Mao Xiaomei. It’s much more convenient to live outside, but at school, you have to abide by all these rules.
Renting outside is expensive and not convenient. Qin Xiangnuan still didn’t want these two classmates to learn from others and rent a place together. How could it be as safe as the school outside?
