Chapter 361: Troubled Gift
Qin Xiangnuan didn’t want to trouble Jian Zhiqing either, but now she had no choice but to do so. Besides, this trouble was caused by Jian Zhiqing in the first place, so he should be the one to help sort it out.
The next day, Jian Zhiqing did indeed go to the school. Qin Xiangnuan didn’t know what he said to the homeroom teacher, but the teacher allowed her to take her things home and said she didn’t need to live at school anymore. However, if her grades dropped too much, she might have to move back in.
So, no matter what, Qin Xiangnuan was absolutely determined not to bunk above or below Li Mingyan. Therefore, she couldn’t fall behind in her studies. Thankfully, she had never thought about giving up on school. She was determined to get into a university. It would be much easier then, and she wouldn’t have to live this exhausting life any longer. This was how she comforted herself, and perhaps every 12th grader felt the same way.
Qin Xiangnuan packed up her bedding roll and took it with her. Granny Lu, seeing Qin Xiangnuan making the bed, asked and found out she wasn’t living at school anymore. Granny Lu thought it was good for her not to stay at school. She always said the food in the school cafeteria wasn’t nutritious at all. It was better to be close to home and able to take care of her as well. How nice that was.
Granny Lu made a batch of dumplings that night. Eating the dumplings, Qin Xiangnuan felt a cozy warmth in her heart. This was how it should be. If she were still at school now, she’d probably be eating the awful cafeteria food that didn’t quite kill you. Sitting on a cold bench and being stared at by a pair of big nostrils would make her lose her appetite.
And speaking of that pair of nostrils, she’d have to endure it for about one more year. Just thinking about it made her feel stifled.
It wasn’t that she was scared; she just didn’t like it.
She could have had a good senior year, so why did she have to live it so uncomfortably? Why not change the way and not torment herself?
She happily ate a big plate of dumplings, helped Granny Lu wash the dishes, and then took Conghua for a walk outside. Jian Zhiqing was away on a business trip recently, so without him around, everything felt unfamiliar, even walking Conghua.
