Chapter 258: She Sleeps on the Floor
She took out a blanket, guessing she would sleep on the floor for the night, as she was not used to sharing her bed with someone else, yet she couldn’t let Su Baijin sleep on the floor.
"Mr. Su, you sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the floor. The bed is too small for both of us." Qin Xiangnuan had already made up her sleeping spot on the floor; it was just for one night, she could bear with it.
"How can that be?" Su Baijin was really embarrassed, "I should sleep on the floor."
"It’s okay, I’ll sleep there," Qin Xiangnuan took a book and had already crawled under the covers, starting to read under the lamp above her head. Unable to access the system was truly troublesome; furthermore, there was history yet to memorize with exams approaching soon, for subjects that required sheer memorization, it could only mean spending more time to sort it out.
Su Baijin had no choice but to take off her shoes and get into the bed, which had both new and old blankets, now used by Qin Xiangnuan.
The blanket smelled like laundry detergent, which Su Baijin found quite satisfying. Initially, she thought sleeping in another person’s bed would be uncomfortable, but Qin Xiangnuan was so thoughtful to have changed it to a new set for her.
Qin Xiangnuan put down her book, yawned, and soon felt sleepy. Within the system, for some reason, she hardly ever felt sleepy, and with such tight timing now, viewing more for a while might make it difficult for her to wake up the next day.
She pulled up the covers, and with the light at Su Baijin’s side, she probably wouldn’t sleep because Jian Zhiqing hadn’t returned.
She didn’t know how much time had passed when Qin Xiangnuan, drowsy, heard a noise nearby. Struggling, she opened her eyes to see Su Baijin had already left.
And outside, there seemed to be footsteps and a man’s voice.
