Chapter 51: Want to Rent a Shop
She opened the book provided by the system. Fortunately, in her previous life, although she had not attended school, she had self-educated herself later on; otherwise, she would have had to start from learning to read. The first book she started reading was "Records of the Grand Historian."
Page by page, she read on. It was lucky that she was free of distractions and had nothing much to worry about. Moreover, she wasn’t actually a five-year-old child. Otherwise, such a book would really seem like reading an inscrutable text to her. Besides, there was no other entertainment available, so she treated reading as a way to pass the time. She didn’t need to read for long; an hour of spare time outside would give her ten hours to read.
Sister, wake up.
Qin Xiangyang nudged Qin Xiangnuan.
Mmm, Qin Xiangnuan rubbed her eyes and sat up. She had read late into the night and didn’t know when she had fallen asleep. She only remembered holding a volume of the Records of the Grand Historian and being completely engrossed in such a dry book. Perhaps it could only be said that she was desperate to grow up.
And now, the content she read yesterday still lingered in her mind.
What time is it now? She rubbed her eyes again, pulling out her clothes from under the covers.
It’s almost two o’clock, Qin Xiangyang had already left to start the fire in the kitchen.
Selling breakfast was hard work; they had to get up before dawn. However, they only sold in the mornings and could come back home when it was still dark. After returning, they didn’t have to do anything else and could rest well. They made pancakes and stir-fried some dishes, then set up their stall. Every day was the same; their pancakes always drew a crowd as soon as their stall opened and sold very well. By five o’clock, the pancakes were all sold out, and not much of the dishes were left. Even the samples for tasting were all gone, meaning they returned empty-handed but with a handful of money.
