Lu Zhenping felt his face glowing with pride, rarely seen by Shen Meng unless he was in front of his comrades and colleagues.
Noticing Shen Meng looking at him, he turned his head and gave her a smile.
"What’s up?"
"Nothing, just that you look quite refreshing this way."
Hearing her say this, Lu Zhenping chuckled. Shen Meng had seen all his faces; he rarely smiled in front of his subordinates. Now that it’s rare for them to gather and dine, he felt more relaxed.
Before he left the army, he had thought about it – work life would be like entering a small society, different from the military. But he knew that to perform his job well in the long run, he couldn’t rely solely on that prestige; he needed methods and abilities.

He suddenly moved closer to Shen Meng and whispered this into her ear. Shen Meng, who was drinking water, nearly choked.
