The next day, Shen Meng and Lu Xiangxiang went to the county town together, carrying some stuff. On the way, Wu Xianglan and Yu Xueli kept saying how good Lu Xiangxiang looked, reminding them of how they themselves looked as brides. They couldn’t help but think of how everyone dreams of a beautiful life before marriage, yet so often things go against one’s wishes.
