The Male Lead isn't Following the Script!

Chapter 194: First Class

Eventually, Layla flopped onto her bed with a dramatic sigh. "This place is amazing, isn’t it?" she said, staring up at the ceiling. "So much to learn, so many people to meet... It’s like a dream come true."

Adeline nodded thoughtfully, leaning against the bedframe. "It is," she said, though her tone was more measured.

Layla tilted her head up to look at Adeline but soon realised she could not see through the wood. "You seem like you have a lot on your mind," she said, her voice softer than before.

Adeline blinked, caught off guard by the sudden shift in tone. "Maybe," she admitted.

"Well, don’t worry too much," Layla said with a grin. "Whatever it is, I am sure you’ll figure it out. You seem like the kind of person who can handle anything."

Adeline did not know how to respond to that, so she simply smiled. Layla truly saw the best in people.

The three girls continued to chat for a while longer, their conversation flowing easily despite their different personalities. By the time they decided to call it a night, the dormitory felt less like a strange, new place and more like the beginning of something meaningful.

Adeline sat up and glanced down at Layla, who was already fast asleep, her messy blond hair spilling across her pillow. Maia was tidying up her corner one last time before settling in, her movements calm and methodical.

Adeline lay back against the cool sheets, staring up at the ceiling. She wanted to make more friends, preferably ones who were not the protagonists and she did! These girls were so kind and wonderful. She looked forward to spending the next few years with them.
