The Male Lead isn't Following the Script!

Chapter 159: Angry Dad

Adeline matched his pace, keeping just enough distance to avoid detection. Aaron followed reluctantly, muttering complaints under his breath but remaining vigilant.

He had no idea what his sister had in mind, she wouldn’t tell him! To be fair, he did not ask. All he could do was stay alert while chasing the suspicious man. If they get kidnapped or murdered, he was going to throw her under the bus very hard!

They had to work hard! Although their height was helpful in staying hidden, catching up with this man was hard! He was like a slippery snake! Clearly, he was someone experienced.

"Do you even know who he is?" Aaron whispered harshly.

"No," Adeline admitted, her voice steady, "But I have a feeling he’s connected to the intelligence guild. And if he is, he’ll lead me us to our father."

Aaron groaned. "You’re betting on a hunch? Fantastic." He wanted to quit and lift this gremlin by the collar and drag her back to the hotel they were staying. But she was slippery. If he wasn’t keeping up the pace for one second, she would almost disappear from his sight!

What was he doing? Why did he become the lackey of a five-year-old? Is this what it feels like to have a younger sister? The older brother experience. Why doesn’t Alaric have this experience, hmm?

Very unfair!

The man suddenly stopped, his body tense and alert. He turned his head slightly, scanning the area. Adeline and Aaron pressed themselves against the wall of a nearby alley, holding their breath.

"Who’s there?!" the man barked, his voice sharp.

Before Adeline could step forward, a dagger glinted in the dim light, flying straight toward them.
