Chapter 145: A War?
The Goddess’s voice kept hovering from above, guiding her along the path to avoid monsters. Honestly, she wouldn’t mind meeting some monsters. She wanted to vent and use her lightning powers.
They would be the perfect test subjects. But alas, it was not to be. She firmly scared off all the predators in the vicinity. She didn’t realise just how strong her powers were... It could rival the male leads.
Was it really her or was it the power of the Sun Goddess? Either way she was safe for now and she did not need to be on guard.
The Goddess wanted to let her discover it herself so she kept silent. It was hard, she wanted to scream it out loud but she stayed silent.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Adeline made a silent vow.
She would master her new powers. Not just for herself, but for Dimitri, for her brothers, and for everyone she cared about. If life was going to keep taking pieces of her world away, she would make sure she was strong enough to protect what remained.
For now, though, she allowed herself one final glance back at the path Dimitri had taken, whispering a silent prayer for his safety.
"Be safe, Dimitri," she murmured. "And don’t forget about me."
The journey home was long, but her resolve burned brighter with every step.
Because of everything she went through, she forgot about the situation back home, they were all still asleep! What was her plan? If she woke them up, she would get into trouble!
Adeline’s horse trotted up the winding path toward the Kendrick estate. The ride home was slower than usual, the realisation had hit her like a bolt of lightning! Pun intended.
