Chapter 100: Banquet
Busy times always seem to make people forget their troubles and sadness. Cen Jin also tries her best not to think of those messy things and keeps herself occupied. Even during her lunch break, she focuses on the latest design concepts and hardly dares to slack off.
The fear is that once she lets herself relax, her mind will be filled with everything related to Jiang Baizhou.
After two in the afternoon, the previously scheduled client arrived, and both Ye Lingran and Cen Jin became busy with work, leaving them no time to think about anything else, until the client finally chose elements and left after five-thirty.
Although the day was busy, Cen Jin didn’t feel tired and found this routine quite enjoyable. However, now that she was free, the first person who came to mind was Jiang Baizhou. Instinctively, she picked up her phone to see if there were any missed calls or unread texts and WeChat messages, but the blank screen inevitably left her feeling a bit empty inside.
"Cen Jin, what’s wrong?" Ye Lingran walked over, tilted her head, and looked at her, "President Yun is here."
Cen Jin returned to her senses and turned around to see a handsome figure in a dark suit with a gentle and elegant smile standing at the door. Cen Jin then walked over and asked in surprise, "Yun Qi, why are you here?"
"Isn’t it for the dinner party? It’s raining outside, and I thought it would be troublesome for you two girls to hail a cab, so I came to pick you up. Have you finished your work?" Yun Qi laughed gently, his tone very polite.
"Yes, we’re just about done." Cen Jin nodded with a smile, concealing the loneliness in her eyes. She glanced at the clock on the wall and softly said, "It’s almost six o’clock. Let me change my shoes. I’ll be right there." Saying this, she quickly changed into the high-heeled shoes she prepared in the morning and grabbed her bag and phone.
