Chapter 55 - 055: Pretending to be deep
Staring at his broad back, Cen Jin was taken aback, her expression also filled with surprise. Just as she was about to speak up to stop him, she saw Jiang Baizhou slightly tilt his head. His indifferent gaze swept over coldly, and his uncompromising, hard voice fell beside her ear again: "You have two choices, either I carry you or you go home in a wheelchair."
Cen Jin was speechless. Did he mean to buy a wheelchair and push her back?
But she didn’t have a fracture, just a sprained foot that would heal in a few days. Wasn’t using a wheelchair too exaggerated?
Seeing his resolute and sharp gaze, Cen Jin finally chose to compromise. Holding her bag, she gradually leaned forward and slowly rested against his back. When she caught a faint hint of his shampoo scent, her originally calm heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and her body became tense.
This wasn’t actually the first time he had carried her on his back. When they were children, she once accidentally missed a step on the school stairs and injured her leg. During that time, he was the one who carried her up and down the stairs.
But after all these years, being carried on his back again stirred a sensation in her heart that she couldn’t quite calm down.
With the weight on his back, Jiang Baizhou firmly supported her and slowly stood up. It seemed he was quite practiced, each step he took was stable and didn’t make Cen Jin feel a hint of jolt.
After leaving the hospital, Jiang Baizhou carried her to his car, squatted down to gently set her down. Cen Jin, because she couldn’t put much weight on that foot, stood on one leg. As she straightened up, she lost her balance, but fortunately, Jiang Baizhou swiftly reached out to wrap his arm around her waist, although a layer of displeasure darkened his brow.
"Don’t move." Jiang Baizhou advised her, turning his head slightly. With his other hand, he opened the car door and helped her sideways into the car.
