"Hey... We haven’t had dinner together in quite a while. Want to grab some dinner tonight?" Lu Xize took a couple of steps forward, raising his voice as he continued to shout.
"No time."
"Then when will you have time?"
"When I have time, I’ll naturally have time." Jiang Baizhou didn’t even turn his head, leaving those words behind as he grabbed Cen Jin and left the clinic, disappearing from Lu Xize’s sight.
Lu Xize was left alone, looking helplessly toward the door, eventually shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head with a sigh, "Ah! Truly prioritizing love over friendship!"
The midsummer sun was exceptionally dazzling, spilling in from the side. Cen Jin stared blankly at his back, feeling the warmth conveyed from his palm. Her heartbeat kept accelerating, with those long-hidden fluttering feelings suddenly surging forth.
Just as her thoughts drifted far away, she accidentally kicked the small step between the roadside and the sidewalk. Cen Jin exclaimed, her eyes widening with panic as she completely lost her balance and hit his sturdy back hard.
Jiang Baizhou froze for a moment, his steps suddenly halting. He turned around to look at her, finding her with a small frown on her face, rubbing her forehead with a look of pain, his lips lightly pressed together, "What’s going on?"
