Chapter 26 - 026: You’d better not regret it
Along the way, Cen Jin made quite a fuss, and Jiang Baizhou kept a calm face, silently vowing in his mind that if anyone ever dared let Nie Cenjin drink again, he wouldn’t mind taking a knife to chop them up.
In the end, perhaps she was tired of causing a ruckus, or the true aftereffects of the alcohol had kicked in, making her head even more dizzy, she finally quieted down, obediently leaning against the seat back, half-opening her eyes in a daze.
Seeing her silent, Jiang Baizhou turned his head to glance at her, gazing at her delicate face flushed with a rosy glow. His lips pressed into a straight line, something unknown seemed to brush across his heart before he silently withdrew his gaze, focusing intently on driving.
The night sky after the rain looked very refreshing, a silvery crescent moon hung in the sky, surrounded by a scattering of stars.
When they reached the villa, Jiang Baizhou turned off the car, unbuckled the seatbelt, and just stared at her for about half a minute before opening the car door to get out. He walked around the front of the car and opened the door of the passenger seat, placing his large hand against the car frame: "Nie Cenjin, we’re here."
"Hmm, okay." Cen Jin responded, rubbing her eyes and sitting up, wanting to get out of the car, but she was restrained by the seatbelt and couldn’t move at all. She tugged at the seatbelt forcefully, but it wouldn’t budge, finally letting her temper flare: "Ah, why won’t it come off!"
