Chapter 726: Side Story 4. Endless Journey - 9
When the weather started to get a little bit chilly and the leaves on the mountain started to turn red, the twins were moving through the dark.
They woke up with their Dada and Baba kissing their faces, picking up their sleepy head from their little bed. They felt their body swayed in their parents’ arms. Through blurry, sleepy eyes, they saw the same scenery as last year and the year before: the dark morning grass and the soft glowing garden lamp, the bright red paint of the lighthouse.
Kar raised his head first, holding on to his Baba’s neck. A warm blanket covered him, keeping him warm as the cold wind of the dawn blew toward his face. Thankfully, Baba’s hand shielded him from the wind, until Asa rubbed his eyes and woke up after Dada’s patient whispers.
At that time, through the gap between his Baba’s fingers, Kar could see a golden dot. When Baba’s hand moved away, Kar could see the golden dot spread through the horizon, creating a sharp line that became softer and larger with each passing second.
"Waaah!" Asa raised his arms high, already energetic just a few seconds after waking up. "It’s like Baba’s and Aca’s eyes!"
"Kar also," Dada stroked the older twin’s right cheek, right below the amber eye.
"Isn’t it pretty?" Baba laughed.
"Pleetty!"
Soon, the golden light got larger and higher, and the dark violet sky turned bluer and bluer. Kar and Asa widened their eyes, still amazed at the changes even after seeing the scenery several times already.
"Now it’s Dada’s eyes," Kar muttered with a rare smile. After all, it was one of his eyes too.
When they were still gawking at the changing sky, Dada and Baba patted their arm, pointing at the brightening sea.
