The operator and the guard turned around swiftly when they heard the door closing. Curiously, they watched a figure walking from the door toward them.
The tension in their limbs loosened slightly, however, when they saw the figure was wearing a military outfit. "Huh? Who are you? We don’t know that someone will be sent here again; do you have a message for us or something?"
"Yes," the man replied in a firm voice but relaxed demeanor, further loosening their vigilance.
When the man was close enough that they could see his face, the guard exclaimed. "Hey, aren’t you that Night Star guy from Mobius? Major General Han Gyeong’s son?"
Again, the man only replied briefly. "Yes."
The guard scoffed inwardly. Geez--like father like son; they acted like they needed to pay for every word spoken. Well, this guy was probably here under his old man’s order. He did hear that this sudden check-up was ordered because the Major General was on his way to do some inspection.
"Don’t drop your guard, Gram," the other man, the one who had been checking on the system, said tensely while raising his gun, slowly charging it with his mana. His other hand was hovering above the emergency button on the side of the archival device.
"Huh, why?" the guard asked confusedly, but he still unseathed his sword and raised it in front of him.
"The Night Star had been missing for the past month," the operator said. "And someone had been taking data from the system."
"Are you saying it’s him?" the guard, Gram, widened his eyes, hand gripping the sword tighter.
"Well, he is suspiciously here, isn’t he?" the operator gritted his teeth. "There’s no reason for Major General to send him first when he’s going to come anyway."
