There's No Love In the Deathzone (BL)

Chapter 191 - 185. Distance of the Hearts (M)

It was different.

The moment Zein’s lips touch him, Bassena could feel it was different. Rather than the usual display of lust and hesitation, there was another kind of desire contained within that kiss.

Those lips were trembling, ever so slightly, just like the hands holding his face. Bassena had no idea, just how long their lips were pressed together. It felt long and short at the same time, however weird it might seem. It was long enough for them to end up on the bed, lips still locking, and short enough that they felt a pang of loss when they parted.

When Zein pulled away, the blue eyes were filled with so much complexity. That usual fear, the rare display of vulnerability, but also affection, adoration, and something that Bassena had always wished he could see; certainty.

"What to do with you?" the melodic voice grazed the esper’s senses, as the callous fingers stroke the platinum hair tenderly. Leaning closer again, so close that even a whisper sounded like a roar, Zein let out a rather weak voice. "Baby, what to do with you?"

There was nothing in this world could prepare Bassena for hearing Zein call him baby softly, with so much tenderness that came from guilt, but also gratitude, and affection.

He didn’t know what to do, what to say. Bassena found himself too afraid to even breathe or think, worried that this was all just the projection of his dream, an illusion. That he might be trapped in a dungeon somewhere that showed him things he wished for.

It wasn’t until he felt Zein’s lips on his forehead that the clock inside him moved again. The tight grip on his hair, on his head, lips that traveled to his brow, the scales beneath his eyes, the edge of his jaw...

When those red lips touched his cheek, just a shy away from his lips, was when Bassena finally dared to move, hands holding into the straddling hips gently, like he was touching a fragile glass.

"Anything," Bassena felt his heart and lung give away as he responded. "Whatever you want to do,"

He felt a rare, gentle smile on the guide’s lips as their lips collided again, hungry, yet filled with tenderness. But then Zein pulled away again, hands retreating from the esper’s hair. The amber eyes stiffened in momentary anxiousness, worried he might do something the guide didn’t like. Again.
