Chapter 808: PURITY AND FORGIVENESS
Purification of black magic, basically only touched the surface of it. It almost like you wiped something dirty to clean it.
Since there were hundred, if not thousand of variation of black magic, same like magic in general, the dept of the darkness and the fatality of the black magic was also different.
Curse and offensive black magic could be purified. That was what happened to baby Vemion and Iris’s babies when she gave birth to them, of course, Abby didn’t talk about her babies, since it would open another can of worms, but she gave Iris an example of baby Vemion.
The purification also had different level and it was clear to see Iris had a powerful purification when Abby couldn’t cure Vemion’s curse, but Iris could do it. Another example was when Iris purified her baby from the black magic when Abby supposed to have her cleaned from it.
It happened because Abby’s purification was too weak, thus Iris’s power took over and got rid of the curse, cleansed it more thoroughly.
"Because of the first Serafim’s life essence in you, you have a strong purification power, but absorption is different story entirely," Abby said in the end of her elaboration about the purification.
Iris understood that, after all, she had a long talk about it with Haco, but when Abby confirmed it, it solidified Iris and Haco’s assumption. Even without sufficient knowledge, their logic was enough to bring them so close to the truth.
"The Serafim should be the embodiment of something pure, you need to have a pure heart and mind without any traces of darkness." Abby gritted her teeth when she said that. "It’s hard to keep up with that, but with enough training you will be able to reach that state..." her voice sounded very weak when she said her last sentence.
Absorption could be used when the black magic was too strong, the purification didn’t work. In this case, it was what happened with Ethan. Even Iris’s purification didn’t work on him and she couldn’t even sense the black magic in it.
