"Alpha Cane, congratulation about the baby!" alpha Colter congratulated Cane, he patted his shoulder and gave a fatherly speech to him about fatherhood. Koda also did the same thing.
There was this subtle tension Cane could feel from Koda to alpha Colter. He was not sure how Koda would scheme against alpha Colter for his desired to intervene with his plan as the regent, but it didn’t take genius to say Koda wouldn’t let it slide, the information he got from Cane about what alpha Colter and Laluna were trying to do behind his back.
"Congratulation, alpha Cane! I hope this baby will have the royal golden eyes!" Koda congratulated Cane. The enthusiasm that he showed in his voice, didn’t reach his eyes at all. One more royal family, it meant, one more people to be a threat for the throne.
"Ah!" alpha Colter shook his head. "That’s right. What happened with the false claim must be very upsetting. But, I wonder why didn’t you kill that woman and the baby?"
"That’s not necessary," Cane replied coldly. They were trying to say there was a possibility of Iris was having another man’s baby and reminding him about Sofia in the same breath.
"Don’t be too soft. Such crime deserved death punishment." Koda tried to pat his shoulder like what alpha Colter did, but Cane moved away subtly, as if he didn’t see it coming and went away to approach the holy knights instead.
"I am going to talk about logistic with the other knights, I will leave the rest to both of you."
With that, Cane extricated himself from a wasteful conversation. He had received a letter from Iris that informed him about how Laluna had learned about her pregnancy, therefore, he was not surprised when alpha Colter and Koda knew immediately.
He had sent an group of people to be with Iris, now the Aggeverya road had been secured, they could commute safely.
"Cedric!" Cane called the head of the holy knights.
"Alpha Cane." Cedric nodded politely to the alpha. "There is no problem here, our watcher said the enemy is taking the Winter Moon pack’s gates as their stronghold. There are no activities from there."
