"You better not talk to her for a while, don’t even show your face in front of her, because it will make her upset," Cane said lightly, despite how scary he looked like, his tone was rather gentle, as if he was giving some sage advice, which confused Lou with this mild reaction. "Give her time to calm down, if you provoked her now, she will not want to see you ever again, she can be very stubborn."
Cane didn’t need to know the detail of what Lou was going to say to Iris or why he looked panic like this. It didn’t take a genius to guess what happened.
This merchant should be smart enough to see this coming when he exposed himself of how he abused those children, knowing how Iris always had a soft spot for the little one, but unfortunately, Lou didn’t think that far.
Lou narrowed his eyes. He was being suspicious. "How do you know she will still be angry with me?"
"Because she is my mate, I know her from inside and out," Cane replied simply.
However, it sounded lewd in Lou’s ears, making him shivered uncomfortably... what he meant with inside... out? He didn’t even want to think about that.
"Make sure not to show your face in front of her for a while, she will be easily having conversation with later."
There was no hostility, there was no anger, there was no malicious intention from the way Cane talked to Lou, as if he gave the merchant a genuine advice, which made him actually considered it.
It seemed, Cane was using difference approach with Lou. Something that was unusual, something that was seemingly not him at all.
"I will come later," Lou finally said, he didn’t want to take Cane’s advice, but he was considering it. He was scared to face Iris’s wrath to be honest. "Let’s move, let’s move!" he waved his hands to his men.
However, one of them reminded him. "Master, we need to stop because we need to let the children to rest and sleep."
