"Well... that’s a turn off." Lou touched his chin, as he stared down at the naked woman before his eyes for a moment and then went straight to the bed. Seemingly, all the mood had gone and this left Nala panicking, because she was afraid she would fail to get this merchant on her side.
She suppressed the feeling of humiliation that dreaded her, she became self conscious the moment she saw Lou’s reaction.
Before this, she had always had men to shield her and they were willing to do that because they wanted her body, thus Nala knew her greatest strength was her beauty.
In this lifetime, being beautiful was the greatest asset that women could have. You could get all the privileges that the ugly ones could only dream of, but it came as a blessing and a curse at the same time.
However, the King had ruined Nala to the point that another man could only see her naked body in disgust while this was something that never happened before. They used to worship her and tell her how beautiful she was.
"W- we can do it from behind, so you don’t need to see my scar..." Nala tried to persuade Lou, but the merchant only closed his eyes when she approached him, which shattered her self confidence even more. Did the sight of her really disgust him?
"Nah. Let’s do it another time. I am not in the mood right now." And after saying that, Lou turned his body away until his back was facing Nala and this hurt her even more.
Her pride was crushed. She, a woman, who always flaunted her beauty, now had a man give his back to her because he couldn’t stand the sight of her.
"O- okay..." Nala held back her tears and put on her dress back.
"Close the door when you leave."
That was just another stab to her heart. This merchant was truly heartless to the bone when he chose not to care.
