Chapter 468: SOMEONE WAS THERE
Cane saw red when he saw Iris writhing in pain as she let out an ear splitting scream, the current sight of her turned his eyes blood red.
"LU!" Cane called the lycan and at the same time, he shifted into his beast form.
There was no way out. There was no other solution aside from this. Lu was right. No matter how meticulous Cane had been scheming his way to get to his goal, his lack of power was a crucial point.
’Do you really think, you can solely rely on your crafty brain?’ The lycan scoffed at him when he tried to force himself out and Cane stubbornly held him back.
’For ten years, you have used that brain of yours, but without my power, do you think you could have broken free from the slavery? If something happens to my mate, I will not only slaughter your pack members, but any creature I can get my hands on.’
Cane knew that was true, but his statement about Iris irked him.
Yet, seeing Iris doubling over in so much pain, there was nothing more important in his eyes than to stop her pain and the only power Cane could rely on was the lycan’s.
He gave up his body and let the lycan get full control over him. It was a crucial thing for someone like Cane to be vulnerable and let himself be controlled by others.
As an alpha, it was in their nature to have full control over everything around them, to be in a vulnerable state was against their nature.
But, at this moment, a realization hit Cane so hard. He was not only willing to give up his dominance and become so vulnerable before the lycan, but he was more than ready to give up even his soul, if it meant, he could stop her pain.
It was not clear since when he felt this strong and deep feeling for her.
