The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter

Chapter 252: IT MUST BE FATE

This could be considered as the first fight she had with Cane. Iris felt so hurt and was afraid. She usually did not act like this, but the questions and her confusion had been sitting in her heart heavily. She only wanted a little bit of clarity, was that too much?

Iris kept turning back to check whether Cane was following her, but every time she did, her disappointment would only inflate further, because she could see no one behind her, except for the guards that patrolled around this area. They paid no mind to her.

She lowered her head and felt this feeling weighing her down.

He didn’t even care that she went out alone after the monster attack. He didn’t worry at all about her. So, was this the answer that she needed? She felt unsatisfied, but the more she felt like this, the more she felt down and guilty.

Why would she throw a temper tantrum like this? What did she expect from him? Cane didn’t change, he was always like that, it was Iris, who was too carried away with her feelings.

Iris was upset with herself and blamed the mate bond for her feelings of attachment toward Cane and then the embarrassment came.

Why did she think Cane would care? It was not even a question in the first place. She should have known her position. It was not like he treated her nicely without a hidden agenda, every move that he made, it was a calculative one.

He didn’t take a mistress again because it would be a problem if none of them got pregnant and since Iris had known his secrets a little bit too much, it would be safe to keep only her by his side, but not out of consideration for her.

If Cane could take over the Blue Moon pack without her involvement, he would have gotten rid of Iris by now and paid no mind to her.
