Chapter 84: JOURNEY TO THE HOWLING PACK (4)
When the battle finally ended, it was almost dawn and they couldn’t reach the Howling Wolf pack before sunset. The attack of the goblins and trolls delayed them because there were so many victims in the commoners and also a few in the warriors.
Though there were no casualties, they still needed time to recover, especially the children. Because their healing ability was still developing, they couldn’t heal from the injuries as fast as the adult shifters.
"Find a place that can be used as shelter during the storm." Cane looked up at the dark sky. Rain was still pouring down heavily. They couldn’t continue this journey in such weather. Their best bet was to find a shelter until the storm passed.
"On it," Jace and Ethan replied, as both of them immediately dispersed their subordinates to find a suitable place for this large entourage to take shelter.
They couldn’t find a cave in this butte, but there were huge rocks surrounding them, which they could use as a cover during the storm.
Meanwhile, Cane asked Will to take a few people to check their surroundings, just in case there would be an ambush again.
"Right away, Alpha." He moved fast, because the gloomy sky and how the wind howled between the rocks told them they would be in a dire situation if they were to be ambushed again.
From afar, Grace had already moved to check on the injured people with the other twenty healers.
"I don’t think there will be another ambush," Redmond said, as he approached Cane. He didn’t want to address him as the alpha, but he had to keep it civil with him, since he was the mate of his luna.
