Chapter 1163: It’s your turn this time
It wasn’t like Ram fully disagreed with Ulysses. The young man had a point. However, what the young man didn’t know was that even though he had a point, he was lucky he was still alive. After saying all that nonsense and even bringing up Felice into this, she would’ve killed him if this had happened before.
But she didn’t.
In other words, Hera might appear that she didn’t listen to everything Ulysses said, but she did. Ram and Wolf were more than a hundred percent certain of that.
After knocking on the door, Ram quietly stepped into a private room which Hera often went to whenever she needed time for herself.
A shallow breath slipped past his lips as he caught her figure sitting by the bay window seat. She had the windows open, her back on the wall, her feet extending into the rest of the space. Ram quietly approached her, squeezing himself into the small space at the end of her feet.
"Before Mom died, she told me she wanted to discuss something important with me," Hera spoke as soon as he joined her, eyes on the window, watching her men put out the fire in the chopper she shot earlier. "She didn’t tell me what it was, but I presumed it was about her family. After all, she mentioned a little bit of her parents to me during our last meal together."
A bitter smile turned up on her face. "Now, I understand why she wanted to discuss these things with me and why she waited for so long to have the resolve. Her family is one big screw-up."
Ram could only let out a deep sigh, staring at her side profile. "I shouldn’t have let them in."
"You and I know you invited them in and let us hear them out for a reason," she replied, her tone still the same, quiet and distant. "It’s the right thing to do. That little runt might be annoying, but the information he had given us saved us several countless nights of researching about our enemy."
