Chapter 1130: Investigation

[Additional Note: Tell my impostor she needs more practice. Hera Cruel isn’t as pathetic.]

"Hera Cruel," Officer Park whispered, shifting his eyes to the impostor in horror. ’Now this is more like what the most dangerous woman could do instead of screaming her name. Her actions speak volumes...’

Officer Park ducked on instinct when a loud explosion outside the station was heard. The walls, ceiling, and floor shook due to the impact, prompting everyone to check the situation, including Officer Park. The moment the officer went out, he caught one of the mobiles on fire, men in uniform in formation with their weapons pointing up.

Curious, the officer slowly turned around and looked up at the station’s rooftop. His eyes dilated, catching a chopper hovering over the rooftop before a ladder rolled over its door. The woman standing defenseless on the railing slowly moved the megaphone in front of her mouth.

"Officers," she called, unfazed by the movements on the ground. She slowly raised her other hand, clinging onto the ladder before the chopper slowly ascended. "Thank you for letting me stay for the night. Saved me a few bucks for a motel room."

Officer Park and some officers who had seen her in their office had their jaws dropped. They stood motionless while those who came to arrest the real Hera Cruel moved. They opened fire at her but to no avail. It was too windy today, and she was swaying in the air while the chopper quickly ascended in the sky.

The swat and Interpol hadn’t given up yet, but Officer Park knew it was futile for some reason. Hera Cruel had done so many grave crimes even ten lifetimes wasn’t enough to serve all her sentences. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration that even her death could be another crime to escape her sentence. But she never got arrested for any of the crimes she committed.

Yet, she got arrested for jaywalking.

[This is why some people think the law is funny.]

Her previous remarks rang in Officer Park’s mind, realizing that a simple mocking remark wasn’t as empty as he thought. It was the real mockery she had for the law. She found it funny and as shameful as it was, she had all the reason to mock it.

’The law is indeed funny,’he thought, crumpling the packet of wet wipes in his grip. ’We can’t arrest her for any of her biggest crimes, but if she wanted to, she’d be locked up even for the pettiest crime.’
