Chapter 1128: Loud and proud
The woman Hera Cruel attacked was given some ice packs and tissue to wipe her nose. The officers let her stay in the office, sitting quietly in front of Officer Park’s desk while the man checked her charges.
"You were arrested for jaywalking last night?" Officer Park looked over his monitor and at the woman.
"I wasn’t jaywalking." The woman rolled her eyes, taking away the ice pack from her nose. "I was drunk, and I tripped over from the sidewalk."
Officer Park looked at her, not buying a word of it. Though he believed she probably had a drink last night since she still had a faint scent of alcohol.
"I see why you were arrested," he said, shaking his head. "You argued with the officer."
"I didn’t argue. I just told him about my rights." She shrugged. "And that fining an already ’fine’lady who is ’pretty’ drunk is an abuse of power."
Officer Park glanced at her again, holding back any comment about narcissism. "Clever."
He then glanced at her file and her arresting officer. As soon as he saw the name of the officer, he wasn’t surprised this woman was locked up. He only interacted with her for several minutes, but he could tell she was the type to argue and end up in jail.
’Though I agree with her,’he thought. ’Her arresting officer tends to abuse his power.’
"You will still be fined for the jaywalking..." Officer Park muttered as he checked her data one last time. Aside from last night’s arrest, she didn’t have any record from their system.
"I’ll still get fined after getting arrested for no reason? And end up getting beaten up by a psycho?" the woman scrunched up her nose, clicking her tongue in disappointment. "This is why some people think the law is funny."
