Chapter 1094: Thank you for asking
"You have to confiscate the laptop," was Gray’s first remark as soon as Dominic closed the door. "He shouldn’t be playing with that thing."
Dominic arched a brow, facing him slowly. "That’s strange," he pointed out. "I thought you’d asked me to be lenient and save him from getting a timeout."
"I would, but not in this case." Gray shook his head. "Hera left for a reason. Anyone with her dies."
"Everybody dies."
"But not as cruel as those innocent bystanders." A deep exhale escaped Gray, looking at Dominic worriedly. "I don’t know if she told you this, but anyone she talks to or encounters anywhere in the world earns a target board on their back. It doesn’t matter if he or she is a bartender where she drinks, a bystander whom she asked for directions, or someone she bumps into a crowd."
"All of them were targeted because her enemies think she knew them personally," he continued in the same grave tone. "A simple question for directions or an order for a drink were perceived as secret codes. Her enemies were vicious; they don’t take chances."
"My point here is, that is how she got more miserable. If an innocent stranger gets targeted, what more if they were the people she cares?" Gray added. "Maybe you can fend for yourself. But what about Basti and Miracle? She’d risk many things on a daily basis, but not this one. She’d rather be dead than take a risk."
"I know your worries, Gray. But what I don’t understand is you telling me everything I already know since it’s the reason Hera is not here," Dominic returned, a little numb at Gray’s concern. "You don’t have to rub it on my face that there’s nothing I can do to help my wife."
"What Basti did is he infiltrated the main control of the CIA. Thanks to the device, which I assumed Joker personally modified, his IP and firewalls are protected. The little master simply made sure the program on his laptop was maximized to its full potential. However, if he keeps doing this, it might put him in danger," Gray explained.
