Chapter 1084: Hera’s little secret
"Yet, she did none of those because she knew that keeping you close also means taking away your freedom. It’s not that you couldn’t change anything, you changed her."
How Dominic could wish to retort Heaven’s remarks. How he wished he could say "he regrets being the cause of Hera’s change." Because if Hera didn’t change, then they would have been together. Instead of talking to Heaven, he would’ve been talking to Hera. Instead of holding a divorce paper, he would have been spending sleepless nights trying to help Hera concoct a flawless plan.
But he couldn’t.
Because they were nothing but his selfish wishes. Ridiculous, but Dominic wasn’t anything better than Heaven. He was just as bad, or probably worse parent than her. The only real parent here was Hera, who put those innocent children’s well-being before hers.
"Why are you telling me this?" Dominic inquired under his breath. "Yes, I couldn’t change the outcome, but I did change her. Was I supposed to feel good about that?"
"I’m saying if you’ve decided to wait, then do so." Heaven smiled subtly. "Like I said, I shared memories, body, organs, and everything with her. Not just in her body, but also in this body. It’s ironic how traumatic Hera’s memory was, but the memories she had as Heaven were the stark contrast."
"She might not come back, or she might. I don’t want to give you false hope. All I’m trying to say is if you wait, it’s better to expect it might be for naught," she explained. "If you do, then I wouldn’t have to worry about you."
"Haha." Dominic shook his head. "How can you worry about me when you don’t even care? It’s too late for you to act as a hypocrite."
"I never said I care about you. But I do care about Hera." Heaven smacked her lips. "I owe her my life — everything. She fixed my life and even when I didn’t want or know how to do it on my own, she still went out of her way just because she knew me."
