Chapter 1082: Will you marry me?
Elliot would glance at Hera every once in a while. Some time ago, never in his wild imagination had he ever imagined staying in the same room as her in this type of setting. It never crossed him. He might see her again, talk business with her, but not like this!
This was not a meeting. It was more like he was a kid needing to cram for the most important exam in his life. And his mother was here to make sure of that.
"This history book..." Elliot cleared his throat, pretending to keep his attention on the book he was reading. "What’s the use of me reading an Asian history? I don’t think it has something to do with the triads. In any case, I think I already know enough about the felons I’m catching more than you assume I do."
"I know."
Elliot looked up at her. "And this medical book. Is it much more important than the handful of profiles you handed me?"
"No."
"Then why are you frying my brain with all this unnecessary information?"
"My kid likes it," she responded nonchalantly. "You might find it interesting as well, and probably pull some strings in facilities where I can take him on his next field trip."
"You have a kid?" Elliot furrowed his brows, shocked. "You? Where? I mean, how? Did you get pregnant before you fell into a coma?"
Hera drew her head back a little, eyes falling on him. "He also likes world history, and a little bit of technology. He wants to learn to clone and make a breakthrough in that said subject."
"Hah! You’re kidding." He scoffed, assuming she was simply talking nonsense. Or maybe she wasn’t lying. It was just that this son she was talking about was actually nonexistent. "You are making me read all of this instead of studying the profiles all because of your imaginary kid?"
