Chapter 1037: Superheroes always win, right?
As Hera, she knew having someone as adorable as Sebastian calls her mommy was a farfetched dream. It was a dream she would only have in her sleep. And it was good enough for her.
"Mommy..."
Hera instinctively held her breath as she froze, eyes dilating. Both shock and touch clashed in her heart, battling which emotion was dominant. She slowly turned around, gazing down at the boy she tried so hard not to embrace at first sight.
"What... did you just say?" she breathed out with quivering lips.
Sebastian pursed his lips, studying the look on her face. The corner of her eyes slowly turned red and a layer of tears coated her eyes. By the looks of it, she was on the brink of falling apart.
"My mommy," he smiled warmly. "She’s going to be fine."
"Oh." Hera blinked fast, nodding. ’That’s what he meant. He’s not calling me mom. Of course, he wouldn’t know. Haha. Silly me.’
Hera forced a smile as she swallowed the tension in her throat. "I know she will be." She took a step toward him, ruffling his hair gently.
"Your mom will be fine, so don’t worry about her," she asserted, nodding at him encouragingly.
The two of them stared at each other before Hera retrieved her hand slowly. But just as she did, his little hands quickly reached for her hand. Hera almost jolted when he grabbed her hand, furrowing her brows as she caught him staring at the bandage around it. The book in his arms fell on his side, but only Hera glanced at it while Sebastian ignored it.
"You have very rough hands," he pointed out, pressing his thumb on her palm. When he looked up, he blinked at her innocently. "My mommy said if people have rough hands, it means they are hard workers."
