Chapter 1020: What is justice? All I know is retribution
An hour later, Wolf and his party arrived in a mansion surrounded by acres of farming land. People already guarded the area; some were still even wearing the same uniform Dragon’s people had. Others were in casual clothing. There were very few who were still in their farming attire, talking to others as if they were just casually catching up with their old friend.
"We’re really back," Wolf whispered, seeing a familiar sight he had almost forgotten. "I can’t believe there isn’t a twist in this trip."
Tracy chuckled, looking back at the back seat. "Were you expecting us to kill you on the way once we got your trust?"
"You’ll never get my trust."
"But you slept so deeply in the middle of the trip. Victor and I couldn’t even sleep because you snore so loudly."
"My age had caught up," Wolf grumbled, ashamed of succumbing to sleep. "If this was before, I wouldn’t even blink."
Tracy chuckled in response as they stopped by the gates of the mansion. Victor only rolled down the window, telling the guard Wolf was with them. Wolf peeked his head out a little, waving at the guards. However, the guards simply cast Wolf a look before refocusing on Victor. Victor had his hands raised as the other guard slipped his rifle at him, ready to shoot if they weren’t part of the invited list.
When the other guard ran their faces in their system, he cast the other guard a look and nodded.
"I got scared for a second," Victor humored, putting his hand back on the steering wheel as they watched the gates open slowly. "The security here is much more scary than a military base."
"They won’t let us in even if they saw Wolf in the back." Tracy nodded.
"Even if you hadn’t stepped foot in here, you should’ve known if you’re not invited, you can’t get in." Wolf leaned back, stretching his stiff muscles. "Even if you’re with me or with another member, that doesn’t give you a pass. If anything, the member will just be in trouble. Whatever the reason, it’s breaking the house rules and compromising everyone’s safety."
