Chapter 773: Back to black
[PRESENT TIME]
Heaven sat in the driver’s seat, parked in the underground parking space at the Lyon Group Building. Although she had arrived intending to delve into some substantial work, she found herself idling in the driver’s seat, hands gripped firmly on the steering wheel, gaze fixed on the expanse of the windshield.
"Hah..." she exhaled, turning her head towards the front passenger seat. Her eyes lingered on the folder resting there, and she swallowed as if the mere sight of it stirred a myriad of emotions within her.
"At this point," she whispered to herself, "I can’t discern what’s changed and what did not."
Heaven averted her gaze from the folder, lowering her head until her forehead rested on her hands atop the steering wheel. With closed eyes, she inhaled deeply, seeking to stabilize the tumult of emotions in her heart.
"A part of me couldn’t care less," she mused, pushing herself back until her back almost melded with the seat. "Yet the other half insists, "You haven’t changed even the slightest, Hera.’"
A wry laugh escaped her lips, and she shook her head before inevitably returning her focus to the folder. The slight curl of her lips faded.
"I was ready to manipulate him," she whispered, extending her body to retrieve the folder from the front passenger seat. As she straightened her back, she held the folder before her. "That damned bastard... after all he’d done, he should meet his end. He has nothing left to lose, after all."
The contents of the folder contained answers to all questions about Primo, a man known for his myriad of identities. Initially, she was disinterested in delving too deep into his background. But with her current situation, Heaven, with the assistance of Joker, had managed to unearth comprehensive information about the man. The task had become remarkably easier after Primo’s arrest, as he no longer had anyone to shield his data.
