"It does bother me, but it doesn’t bother me enough to jump in mindlessly," she replied, finishing up the table. "This is a matter that shouldn’t concern me. I should let the authorities handle it."

She paused and looked at him. "You’re helping with the investigation, so... I don’t need to do anything."

"Hera." Dominic stopped after placing down the last pair of cutlery on the table. He turned and faced in her direction, resting his hand on the chair’s backrest. "You want to help him."

"But I don’t need to."
