Chapter 749: Leo’s fate sealed
Deborah’s role in the organization involved running background checks, spying, and gathering information from individuals who might pose a threat to Dragon or be useful in some way. However, since Dragon hadn’t provided her with specific orders beyond obtaining information, she was well aware of a man named Leo Wu, a superstar who had recently piqued Dragon’s interest due to a call from Hera.
Despite extensive research, there was no apparent connection between Hera and Leo. Even after a thorough investigation, they were certain Leo wasn’t one of Hera’s covert agents deployed for a mission. Deborah initially thought Dragon had dropped the matter, dismissing it as a simple dialing error.
As she stood by the bedside, observing the man lying on it, she realized she was mistaken. Dragon never let go of something once it had caught their attention, regardless of whether others considered it insignificant. If it bothered Dragon, he wouldn’t cease until all the questions in his intricate mind were resolved.
"What the hell?" she whispered, her brows furrowed. "It’s really him."
"Ugh..."
Her brows rose when Leo emitted a sudden grunt. He weakly opened his eyes, squinting at the figure standing beside the bed. As his vision cleared, deep lines appeared between his brows. Instead of asking the most natural question a person like him would ask, the question that flew out of his mouth was something else.
"What do you want?" was the first question he asked, his voice tinged with panic.
"Is that your first question?" she replied, realizing that this man had likely already encountered Dragon. Inquiring about her identity would be futile, and she had no intention of revealing it.
Leo looked away, finding himself in the same room where he had been confined. Propping his elbow against the mattress, teeth clenched, he exerted every bit of energy to sit up.
