It was not that Dragon didn’t understand Hera that night when he asked for her hand in marriage. Hera was carrying a heavy burden on her shoulders, and the idea of marriage was off the table. Dragon’s eyes softened as he watched Hera eat the meal heartily. It was a stark contrast to that memory in the same setting. However, unlike before, Dragon couldn’t feel the same sincerity he felt years ago. "Why are you not eating?" Hera’s eyes twinkled with genuine wonder. "Don’t you like the food?"
"I am lost admiring you," he replied, watching her blush as he lied just enough. "Just watching you eat already warms my heart, Hera."
"Frank," Hera tucked a portion of her hair behind her ear. "Stop looking at me like that. I’m getting a little nervous."
"I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable." A soft chuckle escaped his lips. "I just can’t help it when the most beautiful and smartest lady I’ve ever met is with me."
