Chapter 739: Leo’s missing
Heaven couldn’t help but laugh as she drew the phone away. She lost reception as the elevator descended to the first floor, but she didn’t mind the slight delay. Knowing Joker was playing hard to get, which he would surely fail, the brief break in their conversation would set him straight.
"Until when will he blame me for that one-sided promise?" she murmured, shaking her head as she recalled the time Joker made a promise to her.
[If you reach fifty and are not married yet, you have no choice but to marry me.]
That was the promise Joker told her in the past. Since Hera, at the time, wasn’t even sure if she could get past the age of thirty, she agreed. But now, Joker was making a huge fuss because she got into Heaven’s body, who was already married to Dominic.
He called it cheating, but, well, there was nothing she could do. Even Bear and Tiger had to accept Dominic as her husband. The existence of her children made it hard for those two to step into this marriage anymore.
"Moreover, if I lived, I’m still in my mid-thirties," Heaven murmured, shrugging nonchalantly. She waited for the elevator to reach her destination, producing a short ring as it stopped.
When Heaven stepped out of the elevator, she kept her attention on the phone. She dialed Joker once more, placing the phone in front of her ear, walking through the lobby slowly.
"So?" She spoke the second the call connected, even before the first ring ended. "Do you have any leads on who attacked Leo Wu?"
Joker snapped his tongue in irritation, glaring daggers at the monitor before him. This time, he answered the call through his computer so he could work and talk properly.
