"That’s why I want you to stop that. If you want to see her, then go with her. But if you can’t, it’s better if you don’t give her any false hope. Ivy deserves someone who will prioritize her and not just your second option."
Tiger and Heaven stared at each other in silence. The sound of engines and honks on the highway, and the flashing lights, couldn’t penetrate the silence between the two of them.
"Are you making me choose?" he asked under his breath, almost on the brink of laughing. "Right now?"
"I am giving you another choice."
"Hera, don’t make me start with that nonsense. You keep doing this, thinking you can decide other people’s fate."
"You are not just anyone."
"Exactly!" Tiger hissed through his clenched teeth. "I am your brother, your family. How can you make me choose between my sister and a potential lover?"
"Again, I’m not making you choose. I’m giving you a chance to choose someone other than me." Heaven also clenched her teeth in irritation, emphasizing each word, hoping her point would get through to him. "Do you know that Ivy was being followed earlier today?"
"I asked Moose to take care of her."
